I am going to be telling you my story about basketball.
I started playing basketball when I was 6 in first grade. At first I didn't want to play because all of my other friends were cheerleading,I cheered in kindergarten and absolutely hated it.In my opinion cheer leading is too girly and drama,so I was like can I quit and do something a little bit more fun?So my parents let me play basketball. At first I didn't like it at ALL!I couldn't do any of the drills or nothing. But after a couple of practices I really liked dribbling, and I got pretty good at.I have always tried going faster than the older girls because...#1:I wanted to try to beat them and #2:I wanted to improve my ball handling skills.I really didn't get to play much my first year because I was younger and I wasn't really strong enough to compete with the older girls from the other elementary schools..;(West Liberty,Ezel, and East Valley.)But trying to go faster then the older girls paid off, because not I'm a point guard.
This year was my first year of middle school basketball as a 6th grader. As I said,I'm a point guard. Many of my friends play basketball now, they enjoy it and I'm glad because now I have some friends to enjoy my years of playing basketball with!!:)Also,we won our 6th grade tournament this year against Jackson City! This year I also played on the high school team also.I played quite a bit in JV and had a couple of minutes in Varsity which was a big deal considering here I am a little 6th grader playing against mostly high schoolers that are 14-19 years old!I really enjoy spending time with my friends and getting better at something I love!
I continue to play basketball throughout my middle school and high school years and maybe even play college basketball,I would really enjoy that!I love basketball and glad that I chose a great sport that is very challenging and fun!I will forever love basketball until my years are over.
